Primary Healthcare Center Rubí

Rubí, Spain / Healthcare / 1,370 m²

The site for this primary healthcare center had a significant slope that created a natural barrier with respect to the street and surrounding neighborhood. After evaluating various options, a decision was made to take advantage of this condition and place the building in a way that would minimize excavation.

As a result, the clinic is structured in two rectangular parallel volumes, with the reception and treatment rooms on the ground floor. The access to the area for 24-hour attention is located in the volume closest to the street, which is separated from the other treatment areas by an internal patio.

The position of the volumes allowed for the creation of a small square formed by the junction of the two adjacent streets. The building serves as a backdrop for this newly created public space.

Since the site is embedded in a residential area of the city, the identification of the building as a public healthcare center was especially important.
