Virolet Nursery School

Badalona, Spain / Education / 1,090 m²

Located in the dense residential neighborhood of Bufalà, the design of this nursery school emphasizes a flexible and lively interior, with special care to scale, proportion, color, and accessibility to ensure comfortable and safe spaces for the children.

Due to the pronounced slope of the site, two levels with different access points were established. The classrooms are placed on the same floor as the playground, allowing direct contact between the interior and exterior.

The facade is distinguished by the contrast of the materials. The upper volume with the classrooms seems to float on the black base of the ground floor where the administrative and facilities areas are located.

Five skylights flood the classrooms with natural light, and their double height provides a dynamic spatial experience for the children.
